I attended a matinee of *La bohème* at the Metropolitan Opera on November 30, 2024. This stunning production is renowned for its vibrant Parisian parade scene and the evocative snow effects in Act III. The performance featured delightful, humorous arias in Act I by baritone Gihoon Kim, who made his Met debut as Schaunard on November 13, 2024. As part of “Puccini at the Met: A Centenary Celebration,” the tribute exhibition in the lobby added a profound sense of history to the afternoon. It was the perfect prelude to my planned return to the Met in May 2026 for the 100th anniversary of *Turandot*.
